The genuineness of the meats together with the respect of ancient customs and methods of maturing, distinguish the Ogliastrian cured pork.

The products' high quality is guaranteed by the environment where the pigs live, in the woods they find the best food that nature can offer. The cured pork are prepared, as in the past, in simple ways, with pork or wild boar, salt, spices and a precise maturing. Not only the Ogliastrian hams, but also sausage, bacon, lard and shoulder are nationalwide recommended.

The Ogliastria ham, served on the characteristic wooden chopping boards or on the typical thin bread "pistoccu", according to the antique customs of Sardinian shepherds.The hams have a delicious flavour with an intense aroma and of a bright red colour. The flavour of the mountain ham is surely unmistakable: it is 'born' on the pastures of the Gennargentu where the pigs grow free, the result is found in the flavour and the genuity of the hams.

The most renowned ham factories are to be found in Talana (34 km from the hotel), in Villagrande Strisaili (17 km) and in Urzulei (47 km).
