The Hotel Villa Selene is situated in Ogliastra, one of the most suggestive territories in Sardinia, where coastal landscapes are alternated by a impervious and wild nature and yet unspoilt mountainous landscapes.

Ogliastra is the land of “non conventional tourists”: Coves which are approachable only from the sea or afoot, archaeological sites (nuraghi, domus de janas, sacred sources, the giants' graves, menhir), numerous runs for trekking, mountain bike, horse, car or off-road.

Unmistakable and inimitable characteristic of Ogliastra, its eno-gastronomic tradition: simple, but rich of natural ingredients so different one from the other, but wisely mixed, able to satisfy the even the most demanding palates. The traditional kitchen of Ogliastra is based on the products of the land and the breeding such as the meats and the hams, but also fish and seafood dishes from the coastal zones, the typical local cheeses, the bread and the pasta as well as the traditional sweets found in every recurrence and particular feast.

The most diffused drink is the wine, the most famous among which, in Ogliastra, is the Cannonau, but also “s’abba ardenti”, brandy, used both as an alcoholic drink as well as medicine for various illnesses.
