Ogliastra

Situated in the central East of Sardinia, the origin of the name 'Ogliastra' could derive from the olive trees of which its territory is rich, or from the enormous monolith that rises by the sea north of S. Maria Navarrese, called Agugliastra (Sa Pedra Longa).

Its territory extends from the high basin of the Flumendosa up to the oriental slope of the Gennargentu (silver Mountain), and it faces the Tyrrhenian Sea with a tall and rocky coast.

In Ogliastra it is possible to practise numerous activities: excursions to the discovery of the naturalistic and archaeological patrimony of the territory, visit of the handicraft and farm-pastoral shops, eno-gastronomic itineraries connected with the local traditional products.

By the way, Ogliastra is the favourite destination of trekkers and the keen of outdoor sports.
